La Rouxane is a beautiful old bastide house set in 7.5 acres of beautiful Provencal countryside. The walls of the house are thick helping to keep it cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The house retains much of it's old quirky french character with some modern touches.
The house comprises one double bedroom and two twin rooms, 2 shower rooms, two loos, kitchen, sitting room and dining room. It comfortably sleeps 6.
The kitchen, though small, is well equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, kettle, electric carving knife, all manner of crockery and glassware. This is our home and we visit regularly so you'll usually find salt & pepper and oil and pasta etc in the cupboards (all we ask is that you replace what you use so we don't return to find nothing late at night!!).
There is a large patio in front of the house with a stone table shaded in summer by stunning bay trees.
The pool is 12m x 5m and apprx 1.2m deep all the way along and benefits from full sun all day, though there is plenty of shade surrounding it and there are umbrellas if you need more. There are sun loungers and pool side furniture, and tables and chairs and they can be sited under the bamboo awning on the terrace above the pool or down by the pool, whichever you prefer.
If you're visiting in the summer we expect you'll spend much of your time by the pool so there's a Weber BBQ and plenty of crockery etc so that you can enjoy all that the outside has to offer.
If you're visiting in the cooler months, there is a log burner to keep you toasty. The sun pretty much always shines in Provence so whilst it may be chilly in the mornings, it generally warms up nicely in the midday sun. It's common for people to eat the Christmas lunch outside in the sun with a woolly on!
The house is quirky and not suitable for people with limited mobility due to the layout of the stairs (see photos!)
